Poster competition

All abstracts to be submitted to amika@conference.nz by Monday 15 July 2024.

Purpose

The Australasian Osseointegration Society (AOS), the Australian Society of Periodontology (ASP), and the Australian Prosthodontic Society (APS), in collaboration with their members, are actively involved in advancing oral health awareness in the community in Australasia. This goal is achieved by facilitating the dissemination of knowledge, promoting evidence-based contemporary clinical practices, and supporting research to obtain excellence in the fields of Implant Dentistry, Periodontology, and Prosthodontics.

The purpose of the poster competition is to encourage research conducted by undergraduate or postgraduate students as part of dental and oral-facial related educational programs that are of interest to AOS, ASP and APS members.

The competition has two categories:
I. Preclinical basic sciences involving laboratory or animal research
II. Clinical studies involving human subjects and/or epidemiologic studies

The details and eligibility criteria are given below. All projects must have been conducted with appropriate ethics and safety approvals.

To encourage participation, all poster presenters who have submitted an abstract and met other eligibility criteria will receive a 10% discount on registration. Upon submission of your abstract, please contact the conference secretariat (amika@conference.nz) for the discount code.

The competition will be conducted in two stages. All eligible candidates are expected to submit their abstracts before the deadline. During the conference, a judging panel will select the two top poster presenters for each category. The finalists will present their posters during the lunch session to the conference audience, and the winner will be determined based on this presentation by the judging panel.

The winner will receive A$2,000, and the runners-up will receive A$1,000 for each category. The awards will be presented at the gala dinner.
